Dr William Kristanto graduated from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine National University Singapore . He completed  Internal Medicine and Cardiology Residency program from the National University Hospital Singapore (NUHS). He was a Consultant Cardiologist, specializing  in Interventional Cardiology at NUHS. He was also the Cardiac Rehabilitation lead. His secondary appointment was the Deputy Chief Medical Informatics Officer. 

He was awarded the prestigious HMDP (Human Manpower Development Program) award by MOH where he was trained by world reknown cardiologist Dr. Sidney Lo in Sydney, Australia.  

Dr. William Kristanto is proficient in performing complex coronary angioplasty procedures, especially in the setting of Acute Coronary Syndrome where he is part of the Western STEMI Network for NUHS. He is also skilled in performing high risk complex percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)for calcific coronary artery disease requiring the use of intracoronary lithotripsy or rotational atherectomy. He is adept in performing intracoronary imaging with both Optical Coherent Topography (OCT) as well as Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) for stent optimization. In addition, he also embraces the use of Coronary physiology such as Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR), Index of Microvascular Resistance (IMR) and Coronary Flow Reserves (CFR) to guide clinical decision making, especially in the diagnoses of MINOCA (Myocardial infarction with non obstructive Coronary artery disease) , CMD (Coronary microvascular dysfunction) and Coronary Vasospasm.

About Dr William Kristanto

Dr William Kristanto has been heavily involved in clinical teaching and research. He has mentored numerous medical students, junior and senior residents as well as international Interventional Fellows. He is well published and has been the investigator in numerous ongoing clinical trials. He has been invited as faculty to present at conferences and to give lectures  and webinars in the asia pacific region. Throughout his years of training and work, he has won numerous awards, notably as Best Young Clinician at NTFGH (2016) and Service Ambassador (2017). He has held numerous leadership roles such as Chief Resident during his internal medicine residency stint. He is currently a member of the Singapore Cardiac Society, American College of Cardiology and Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore. 

Outside of medicine, Dr William Kristanto is an avid sportsman in both football and badminton where he is heavily involved in the SMA Doctors Team.
